The new Kate Moss and Mini Fashion

Agora a nova mini modelo a chamar todas as atenções é a filha do ex membro do grupo de rock Oasis, Noel Gallagher.

After talking about the fashion industry's fascination for sisters, it's time to talk about the huge influence children have on it too.

During the year that has just passed there was much talk about the role of children on the fashion world, and much of that talk was due to the well known Thylane Blondeau, the mini model of only 10 years old, and her work, that many wondered if it was age appropriate or not, like the Vogue editorial that shocked the world.
Now the new mini model that's on the centre of attention is the daughter of Noel Gallagher, former member of rock band Oasis. Anais Gallagher, with only 11 years old, was already photographed by Mario Testino and many compare her to a young Kate Moss. Is she the next Kate Moss instead of half sister Lottie Moss?
Anais has already signed a contract with Select Model Management, the agency of models like Agyness Deyn and Natasha Poly, and it's sure to give us something to talk about from now on.

Skipping the studios and editorials to the street, even there kids are making success.
Now we not only talk about a list of the best dressed women or men, but also the list of  best dressed and most influential children. And, some, are even photographed by Street Style expert Scott Schuman, the Sartorialist.
Style doesn't come after a certain age, it's there since the birth, look at little Harper Seven, Victoria Beckham's daughter, that since she was born has made the top of the best dressed kids in the world lists.
The time when children dressed whatever was more comfortable to play has gone, now some are dressed almost as mini adults, with some of their clothes similar to a grown up's clothes only in smaller sizes, like little trench coats, little leather jackets... And, we have to admit, they look kind of adorable, when it's not over the top, of course.
It's obvious that, in most cases, the parents are the ones to "blame" for this stylish kids, that they are the ones who pass this sense of style to their children since they are born, until it comes to a time when kids themselves want to choose what they wear, and they don't wear just something.
From an early age  they start experimenting with clothes, building their own taste and showing their personalities through the way they dress, teaching some great lessons on style and confidence to many grown ups.

Austra - "Spellwork" (music video)

The new music video for Austra's song "Spellwork" directed by Yelena Yemchuk. The user comments over at YouTube aren't all positive but I like it. There's something very soothing about the pacing of the camera work and the framing of the shots in my opinion. Conceptually, it seems very random - the whole scene at the end with the girls gorging themselves on watermelon seemed very tongue-in-cheek but overall I'll give it a thumbs up.

All about Sisterhood

Nowadays it seems like the fashion industry is fascinated with sisters.
The relationships between siblings have been for a long time a target of curiosity and fascination, their rivalries, friendships, complicity, their bond, being transported to numerous tv shows and movies and even editorials.
The Olsen twins, considered the most stylish by Vogue last year, Elle and Dakota Fanning at the cover of W in December and on that same issue of the magazine an article/editorial specially dedicated to celebrity sisters.
And, it's a fact, that in some cases it seems like they have fashion and style running through their veins, like it's something that was passed to them by their genes, that they were born to be it girls, others were just gaining that sense of style throughout the years and after some bad choices.
But what matters is that they are some of the best well dressed women of the moment, and some of them aren't even 18, it's unbelievable.
Like Cara and Poppy Delevingne which in whatever event they appear they present themselves perfectly whether it is on a casual style or a red carpet look, but always sticking to their own style, or the Brandolini sisters or even the Courtin-Clarins. And what do they all have in common? They inspire the way of dressing of women throughout the world, they're real trendsetters.

Coachella 2012

Coachella 2012

Curing the post-holiday blues, a late date announcement brings news of this year's lineup for Coachella taking place as usual on the grounds of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. In an interesting move but odd move, the festival this year will be replicated over two weekends, first on the weekend of April 13-15 then the next weekend April 20-22. I imagine that festival organizers want to be able to accommodate as many ticket buyers as possible, but doesn't having the festival occur on one weekend and then having the whole festival replicated the next weekend make the whole festival, less special? What if the first weekend is better [weather-wise, performance-wise, what have you] than the second weekend or vice versa? What if scheduled performers, for what other reason make it out only to one weekend? It looks like a formula for someone to feel jipped. Musically, there's a good mix of artists that I think will appeal to the average music festival-goer - your reunions (Pulp, Refused, Mazzy Star, At The Drive-In), your current heavy-hitters (The Black Keys, Radiohead, Bon Iver, Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg) and a whole slew of current buzz-worthy acts. The Canadian contingent this year will include Feist, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Destroyer, Zeds Dead, Dragonette, The Weeknd (will Drake make a surprise appearance perhaps?), and The Sheepdogs. I haven't gone to the festival since my one and only time in 2004 and I don't imagine going this year but if I do reconsider it's only because I'd want to feel that warm Californian sun on my face and soak up the good vibes. Coachella is about music foremost but it's also about the experience. If you've never gone and if at least a few of the acts are worth your while, my suggestion is, GO. There is nothing like Coachella. On the other hand, it is three hot days and nights in the desert. I think I may just watch the webcast.

Crop Tops, Now and Then

Speaking of this year's Spring trends, just a couple of months away, but that have been "watering our mouths" since September, being one of them, the feared by some and most desired by others, crop top.
That's right, if there's a time to work those abs this is it, at least for the ones who have any intention of following this trend.
But is this piece of clothing, that invaded the runways in September, something new? Of course not, it's just another proof of how fashion is cyclic, it comes and goes and then returns. And this one in particular came and went not a long time ago. Who doesn't remember, like 10 years ago, seeing young girls everywhere with her abs all showing, with their characteristic belly button rings and super low waisted trousers, or even being one of those girls?
If before this top was used with super low waisted bottoms, typical Britney Spears' style, now it is mostly conjugated with high waisted trousers, skirts, shorts, showing only a little bit of skin, on a more elegant style.
From Acne in London, Prada in Milan to Nina Ricci in Paris, this must-have piece resurged in many styles and shapes, we only have to figure out which is our favourite.
